Rome Diary: Remains of ancient Rome

My first visit to this grand ancient city - a history of more than two and a half thousand years, being referred as "The Eternal City" ~ Roma Aeterna.

One of the highlights in Rome, an ancient domus discovered underground - truely an unforgettable journey through time. The archaeological remains of ancient Roman houses uncovered beneath Palazzo Valentini are now on permanent display, adding to Rome's already rich historical and artistic heritage. Visitor can see walls, rooms, peristyles, kitchens, baths, furnishings and decorations all come back to life, taking a virtual tour of a great Domus of ancient Rome.
Finally, a virtual reconstruction of the column gives you a close up look at the bas-reliefs and the story they tell of Trajan's military campaign: the conquest of Dacia, present day Romania.

Plan your first stop at Le Domus Romane di Palazzo Valentini and I am sure it's going to make the entire trip more surreal.
Column of Marcus Aurelius

The most stunning church in Rome, none other than Arcibasilica di San Giovanni in Laterano. This is the oldest Christian church in the world and was commissioned by Constantine the Great.
Am charmed by all the beautiful sculptures in there.....

Here's my OOTD !! White on white on white ;)

Just another Sunday

What's up, what's up !!
Lazy weekend for me, recovering from the Chinese New Year visiting ;) Instead of doing nothing at home, I have suggested for my OOTD photographer to brush up on his skills. Haha... So here you are before making our way to Orchard to checkout the latest promotions in JTB !! Yeap.. next trip planning in progress, JAPAN... Can't wait !!
Simple white shirt dress - Zara, Flats - Pazzion

What do you think of the pictures? Taken with my iphone and no photoshop at all !! I am happy with them ;) OOTD photographer is improving faster than I imagine.. haha.

Had to show you my lunch, the famous Shi Lin chicken cutlet (bigger than my face). It was written big at the store that they will not cut the chicken for you.. WTH !!

Of course, since we are in Orchard it will be absurd to end the day without any shopping. My purchases for the day ;) Seriously, shopping is the best retail therapy ever..

My first Diptyque candle ;) Well the popular scent Baies is out of stock so I got Verveine(lemon verbana) for a start ! I always have a thing for citrus scent.. I heard before that the type of scent which attracts you is actually what it's lacking in your body. Not sure how true is that though.

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I've got myself the YSL iconic fuchsia pink to match the romance.. <3
Talking about V-day, you know what... I will be spending it in KL office.. :( Yes, my boss is so mean to send me on a business trip on the day where I am supposed to be with him... Completely pissed..

Last up, I have been wanting to try Jo Malone since a while ago and never really had a chance to take the time trying out the entire range. Got a few which I am interested in but I got Nectarine Blossom in the end with sample of wild bluebell.. Going to look and sweet for this Valentine's day.. Hehehe.

Oh, I am sure you heard the raves on this Supermud Glam Glow clearing treatment. It's now in Singapore!! Award winning item, how can I miss it. The salesgirl at Escentials is nice enough to scope some samples for me.. Will blog about it after I try it out !! Stay tuned ;)

What is your favorite scent in Jo Malone and Diptyque? Leave a comment and share with me !

Time for some Krispy doughnuts!! It's my first time trying them. Well, I am only willing to buy it without having to queue. Got it in less than 5mins on a Sunday, has the craze died off ??
For the sweet tooth friends, the bottom 2 is just right for you ;) Kit-Kat and vanilla glazed
Chinese New Year is officially over for me.. Stuffed with food for the entire week, especially ba kwa and kue Lapis. Something I just couldn't resist. I have to say that my mum's cooking is getting better each day... haha. Thumbs up Mummy !! Before ending the post, got to share the Lo-Hei prepared by her.. Extra ingredients Guava, mango and lemon leaves make it super fresh !!
A simple dinner cooked by her last night, filled with warmth and love.. <3 Have I mentioned that her eight-treasure tea is magnificent... Wish you can try it.. !!

Times flies, I was just busy helping Mum to prepare for CNY 2 weeks ago and now it's coming to an end. Hope you have collected enough hongbao to start your shopping spree ;) Till the next one, I wish everybody a super romantic Happy Valentine's Day ! If you do not have that special someone, V-day is all about love sharing to me, share your love with the world... For those with that special someone, I wish you an ever-lasting relationship through both the good and bad times... Kisses
